How investing works in Côte d'Ivoire
Shares in Côte d'Ivoire trade on the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (Abidjan). To buy them you need a broker that is able to trade on that exchange, and you pay in XOF.
The regulator is the Conseil Régional de l'Épargne Publique et des Marchés Financiers (CREPMF). It licenses brokers and publishes the rules for listed companies, so checking that a broker is registered with it is the first step.
Before you invest, read the rules for foreign investors in Côte d'Ivoire: some markets limit who may buy, and some restrict how money leaves the country. Our guide on foreign investor rules covers what to check.
Prices are quoted in XOF. If you live in another currency, a move in the exchange rate can change your return even when the share price does not move. See currency risk for foreign stocks.
