Where the data comes from
- Cryptocurrencies: cryptocurrency prices, volumes, supplies and 7-day price history come from CoinGecko.
- Italy (MILAN), Thailand (THAILAND), Mexico (MEXICO), Brazil (B3), Germany (FRANKFURT), South Africa (JOHANNESBURG), Switzerland (SWISS), Denmark (COPENHAGEN) and 57 more markets: Stock prices and volumes, read from Yahoo Finance. These are delayed quotes, so during trading they can lag the exchange.
- Nepal (NEPSE): NEPSE daily prices and volumes, read from Chukul. These are end-of-day figures from the exchange, so they update once the market has traded.
Each country's stocks live in their own section, such as /market/nepal-stocks/, and a stock page only ever shows a company from that country's own exchange.
How the numbers are worked out
Price
The price shown is the latest price from our data provider, which combines the prices from the exchanges it follows. It can differ slightly from the price on any single exchange.
Market cap and rank
Market capitalization is the price multiplied by the circulating supply. Coins are ranked by market cap. Circulating supply is an estimate that our data provider maintains, and it is the least certain number on a coin page.
Global market cap, volume and dominance
The totals at the top of every page add up the coins we track, so they cover the large majority of the market but not every coin that exists. Dominance is one coin's market cap as a share of that total. The 24-hour change is worked out from each coin's own 24-hour change.
Volume
24h volume is the total value traded in the last 24 hours across the markets our provider follows. It is not independently audited and can include trades that do not reflect real demand.
Gainers and losers
Coins are ranked by percentage change over the period you pick (1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days). Coins with less than $100K of 24-hour volume are left out, because a big move on almost no trading is noise.
Trending
Trending coins are the ones with the most trading activity for their size: 24-hour volume divided by market cap, for coins above $10M in market cap and $1M in volume. It is a measure of activity, not a recommendation.
New cryptocurrencies
Coins first seen in our data over the last 30 days, newest first.
Charts
The 24H and 7D crypto charts use hourly prices, and the longer ones use daily closing prices. Crypto candles are built from those hourly prices, so a candle's high and low come from the hourly prices we hold, not from every trade. Stock candles use the exchange's own daily open, high, low and close.
Watchlists
Your watchlist is stored in your own browser, using your browser's local storage. It holds only the ids of what you starred. Our servers never see it and it is not tied to an account.
